Price before anyone drives
Ask for the service call ($29.00) and the starting labor price for a lockout ($19.00 on the price list). Ask whether a late call changes anything. The locksmith confirms the final price on site before starting.
Waiting safely
- Wait in a lit place: a 24-hour store, a neighbor's porch, your car if it is open
- Keep your phone on loud
- Check the locksmith's ID when they arrive
Next time
A spare key with a trusted neighbor, or a keypad deadbolt, removes most lockouts altogether. Avoid hiding keys under mats or planters; that's the first place people look.
